Everything We Saw At Summer Game Fest 2024

Today, we got nearly two hours of new trailers for upcoming games courtesy of Geoff Keighley and his annual Summer Game Fest showcase. It was a lot to sit through, but if you missed out on the live stream or just want a recap of everything shown off today, we’ve got you covered.


Lego Horizon Adventures

Sony / thegameawards

In a mashup that seems too perfect, Horizon and Lego are coming together to let us smash up digital plastic bricks across a post-apocalyptic world. With an isometric perspective, it gave us a nice look at a wide variety of environments. The game also seems like it’ll have a base-building mechanic as well.

Lego Horizon Adventures is expected in winter 2024 for PS5, PC, and even Switch. Betcha didn’t expect that!


No More Room In Hell 2

Hey, they told you the first time there wouldn’t be any room in hell, but I guess you didn’t quite get the message because now there’s a sequel to once again show you that there is no room in hell. With moody, spooky first-person action through dark, dangerous environments, No More Room In Hell 2 promises cooperative struggles against zombie hordes. No More Room In Hell 2 ships via Early Access in October 2024.


Harry Potter Quidditch Champions

Well, if you’re still into Harry Potter for some reason, there’s a quidditch game on the way. There you go. It launches on September 3rd on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.


Cuffbust

If you’re looking for some cooperative prison break action as, um, koalas? Well, koala-like creatures who are up to absolute no good with their mischief, including throwing explosives in toilets, maybe keep an eye on this one. Cuffbust is expected to release in 2025.


Star Wars Outlaws

It’s hard not to get excited about Star Wars Outlaws, and today’s new trailer makes that even harder. With a wide variety of environments, it looks set to deliver some incredible interactive Star Wars action. There’ll be a new gameplay reveal during Ubisoft Forward 2024 on Monday.


Neva

Neva World Premiere Trailer | Summer Game Fest 2024

If you loved Gris and its beautiful, delicate environments and sweet music, Alba is an essential game to keep an eye on. With gorgeous colors, an adorably cute deer/fox pup alongside your character, and some sword-swinging combat, I know I’m excited for this one.


Civilization VII

With an impressive cinematic trailer set across various civilizations and historical periods, Civilization 7 is set to bring back the wildly successful turn-based strategy series in 2025 on both consoles and PC.


Black Myth: Wukong

Once Human

Metaphor

From the talent that brought us Persona 3, 4, and 5,  Metaphor promises 40 different heroic combat archetypes to harness against your foes in an upgradable job system that lets you amass more power over the course of the game. Metaphor arrives on October 11, 2024.


Batman: Arkham Shadow

Batman arrives in the world of VR with Arkham Shadow. While we didn’t see any gameplay in today’s cinematic trailer, here’s hoping flying around as the dark knight himself in first-person will be as exciting as it sounds. Arkham Shadow arrives exclusively on Meta Quest 3 in Fall, 2024.


Street Fighter 6

The next fighter pack for Street Fighter 6 arrives with Bison, which is very exciting. But don’t take my word for it. Kotaku’s Kenneth Shepard is very eager to tell you why this is so awesome. Additionally, Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui make the leap to Street Fighter this year.


Tears of Metal

Tears of Metal showed off some polygonal highland combat in the rain-drenched dark woods of Scotland. Said combat looks like it’ll feature large amounts of foes, bloody kills, and more with its roguelike, cooperative action.


Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero

The cast of Dragon Ball Z returns to do epic battles against each other once more in Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero. The game arrives on October 11, 2024.


Delta Force Hawk Ops

I do love me an extraction shooter, so I’m certainly keeping an eye on Delta Force Hawk Ops. The trailer features a slow-paced approach to a target zone that leads to a more hectic shootout (complete with, of course, fake gamer co-operative speak), which is enough to convince me that this game might be worth keeping an eye on. We also got a look at its “Black Hawk Down” campaign mode.


Fatal Fury: City Of Wolves

Fatal Fury: City of Wolves arrives on in early 2025 with its very stylishly animated combat.


Battle Crush

Mecha Break

Blumhouse Games Showcase

Blumhouse Games offered up a sizzle reel at Summer Game Fest showcasing a variety of different spooky titles, each with delightfully hellacious horror themes and set in different genres. Fear The Spotlight is the first game expected to launch later in 2024.
