We believe in the power of research to shape a better future, which is why we established the Google Academic Research Award (GARA). GARA supports innovative research in computing and technology with the potential to address global challenges.
Today, we are excited to announce the inaugural GARA winners. In this first round, the program will support 95 projects led by 143 researchers. These researchers represent 115 institutions across 34 countries, and their work aligns with Google’s commitment to responsible innovation in six key areas.
We hope that GARA will accelerate scientific progress. Each recipient receives up to $150,000 in funding and access to a dedicated Google sponsor to provide guidance throughout the process.
